It was gorgeous weather, not too hot, not too crowded, and all the animals were out saying hello. Our first stop though was, well, you know....
At this point Ally looked back at me and said "Mommy, look at my face. I'm so excited!"
She took off in a dead sprint to see the flamingos
But was suddenly detoured by a shopping opportunity. Ally was in flamingo heaven.
She chose the flamingo purse (which she hasn't let out of her sight ever since. "Flammy purse" even goes to preschool)
There they were. A flock of chilean flamingos. That face brought Dan and I more excitement than anything else we could have seen all day.
They are interesting little creatures.
Hutsy liked them too.

Ally was fascinated with this giant elephant eating from the barrel. She stood there staring at it and then said "it's like a pinata!" Oh, she makes me laugh.
All those animals almost put Hudson to sleep. ALMOST. But he battled through. He must have known where we were stopping on the way home.
But before we left we had one more store to check out. The Zoo Store. I've never seen as many random flamingo items sold in one store before. And believe it or not, we left empty handed. Shocking isn't it.
Who could resist those flamingo earrings?A quick stop on the way home to what Ally calls Frosty Doughnuts (AKA Frost). Seriously if you haven't been, go get a maple bar. MMM. SO good.
And that was our family fun day to the zoo. I know I had just as much fun as Ally, and I'm pretty sure Dan did too.

we LOVE the zoo too =) we definitely have as much fun as the kids!! unfortunately, we don't have very cool ones around here=( but the one in springfield was really nice~ we would LOVE to take aiden to Sea World or the San Diego Zoo, someday...
