The kids and I spent a day in December baking together. Since I do this for (kind of) a living, I obviously can hammer out an insane amount of cookies in record time, but I knew my audience and realized patience was going to be of the essence this particular day.
We had originally set out to make gingerbread cookies, snowballs, fudge, peppermint bark, sugar cookies, basically your typical Christmas dessert spread. We accomplished the gingerbread cookies, the snowballs, and by the time we got to fudge, Ally had abandoned me to go somewhere with Dan. My obvious choice for a right hand man had taken off! What? I guess my children bake with me so often that it wasn't that exciting to them.
At least I had H left. He happily unwrapped chocolate square after chocolate square for our famous fudge. Mmmmm. It always feels like Christmas once I've made a few batches of fudge. After that we called it a day, deciding to pick up Costco's peppermint bark instead.
