The kids woke up bright and early the next morning begging to go to the pool. Really? The pool? I could have saved myself $900 in tickets and just taken them to a pool in Washington. We were not going to the pool. We were going to Disneyland. And we were going to be excited about it.
Ally's suitcase was made up of mostly princess dresses with a few swimsuits and clothing here and there. I had no complaints about her packing, where else can you prance around in a princess gown? She chose her beloved Cinderella dress and matching crown for the day. I smiled, realizing one of these days she won't want to wear a princess dress, she'll be too old, and I'll wish she was still 6 years old, twirling around in her glittery blue Cinderella dress.
Once we made it to Main Street, we discovered Disney doesn't just have the world's best corn dogs, they also have the world's best cookies and fudge. After our first visit to the Main Street Bakery, we did not pass that shop again without stopping in to pick up our $3.95 fudge and $3.95 cookies. Worth every cent.
Ally and I headed towards the Princess Fantasy Faire, to stand in the 90 minute wait to meet 3 princesses, at random. Which means there is no guarantee you'll meet Cinderella. We've been lucky the first two trips, Cindy has been back there for us, but this time we were not so lucky, and met Ariel, Pocahontas, and Tiana. Poor Ally, she would never say it in fear she'd hurt someone's feelings, but I know she was disappointed. She's never even seen the Pocahontas movie, and I don't think she's ever watched the Princess and the Frog since it came out on DVD. But Ally being sweet Ally, still smiled and posed and asked the princesses to sign her autograph book.
While we waited for the princesses, Dan took Hudson on the Buzz Lightyear ride for the second time, ate ice cream, and got us some Fast Pass tickets for Hudson's newest favorite ride, and Ally's most dreaded, Thunder Mountain Railroad.
I decided after the princesses that we did, after all, have 5 days to experience the magic, so we took the kids back to our hotel for naps. After nap time we had Cheesecake Factory for dinner (it was conveniently located across the street from our condo) and headed back for the Fantasmic show, a few rides, and of course, fudge.

These last two posts are precious! I can't wait to read about the rest of your adventures. It takes me back to my childhood and makes me look forward to the day that we get to take our kid(s) to Disneyland.
ReplyDeleteI also love that your kids wanted to go to the pool. My mom loves reliving our trips to Disneyland as kids - where all we wanted to do was swim and she wondered why they wasted money on a trip to California. Haha! Looks like it's part of being a parent. :)
