Without an agenda for the rest of our vacation, we left Anaheim and drove towards the beach. We found ourselves in Huntington beach and decided it was the perfect place to spend the weekend. We found an incredible hotel right across the street from the beach, and settled in for a relaxing weekend together.
After unloading all of our suitcases, we changed into our beach clothes. The kids could hardly wait to get to the beach. Dan was excited too, announcing he'd never been to a California beach before. Flashbacks from our honeymoon soon filled my mind. I remember laying on the beach in Cancun, watching my new husband jumping the waves, solo, like a child. He loved those waves. Well it was Dan's lucky day because California has those same jumping waves.
We spent the afternoon on the beach until my children had filled every crevice in their being with sand. We packed up and walked across the street to our place, The Waterfront Hilton, home of one of the cutest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in.
We decided to take a drive down PCH and enjoy the beautiful view. We stopped for Coffee Bean, my favorite coffee in CA, and before we knew it, we were all the way down in Laguna Beach.
That night we shopped and dined at Cheesecake Factory in Fashion Island, then took the kids back to the hotel to swim and hot tub. By the time their little heads hit their pillows, they were out cold.
